From Meta performance to better creative briefs

Performance data becomes more useful when it is connected to the creative taxonomy. Instead of asking "which ad won?", teams can ask "which creative choices are working?"

Meta Ads Manager is excellent for delivery and measurement, but the creative learning often gets trapped at the ad-name level. If the ad name is not structured, the team has to manually inspect the creative to understand why it worked.

Creative Tagger joins performance to taxonomy. Each creative can carry standard tags, brand-specific tags, recognized entities, and performance metrics. That turns reporting into a map of creative decisions.

The metrics that matter

Different creative questions need different metrics. ROAS and CPA answer commercial efficiency. CTR and CPC answer interest. Thumbstop and video retention answer attention. A funnel score combines these stages so the strategist can compare capture, hold, bring-to-site, and convert behavior.

  • Capture: did the creative stop attention early?
  • Hold: did viewers stay with the creative?
  • Bring-to-site: did the creative create click intent?
  • Convert: did that interest become revenue or conversions?

Tag-level reporting beats ad-level guessing

Once performance is attached to taxonomy, the team can inspect which hook types, visual formats, offers, audiences, products, or founder segments are over-performing. The strategist can also flag unproven tags where the brand has little or no spend.

This is where creative planning gets sharper. A brief can say more than "make another UGC ad." It can specify the winning audience, offer type, hook pattern, format, entity, and naming convention.

A better brief

A useful creative brief should include the performance reason, the creative direction, the taxonomy fields to target, the brand-specific entities to include, and the measurement plan. Creative Tagger gives the strategist those ingredients from the same system that stores the creative library.

For V1, teams can import performance by CSV, push rows directly through the API or MCP, or use read-only Meta sync when their app setup is ready. The important part is that the performance memory stays connected to the creative memory.
